Monika Valkunaite is a Lithuanian actress based in Barcelona, working internationally across film, television, stage, and voice. Born in Lithuania, she grew up immersed in music, studying jazz at the Conservatoire “A. Steffani” in Castelfranco Veneto, Italy — an experience that gave her a deep artistic sensibility and an innate affinity for cultures and languages beyond her own.

She went on to train at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, before deepening her craft through the Meisner Technique and the Lee Strasberg’s The Method and working with master teachers including Barry Primus in Los Angeles and Steven Ditmyer in New York.

With a distinctive presence that blends Eastern European intensity with Scandinavian stillness, Monika excels in both emotionally complex roles and offbeat, character-driven performances. She is a passionate advocate for the belief that women over 35 carry some of the richest, most layered stories — ones that deserve to be told with truth and power.

Fluent in five languages — Lithuanian, English, Spanish, Italian, and Russian — she moves fluidly between cultures, characters, and creative collaborations. Her screen credits include the Netflix series Clark, the internationally distributed feature Truth & Treason (Kaleidoscope Pictures), and a wide range of short films and stage productions across Europe.

Alongside her acting career, Monika teaches at the Barcelona Cinema School and Actors Studio. She serves as a board member of the Lithuanian Actors Guild and as an ambassador for The Actors Home, a platform championing connection and creativity within the global acting community.
