Jesús Berenguer
Jesús Berenguer has an extensive career as an actor with 40 years of experience in the world of theater, film, radio and television, beginning with Marcelo Lavalle and continuing with Augusto Fernándes in Argentina and John Strasberg, Helena Pimenta and Wil Keen in Spain.
In Argentina he has been part of private and public casts such as the Teatro Nacional Cervantes and the Teatro San Martín, where he has been directed by personalities of the stature of Marcelo Lavalle, Inda Ledesma, Osvaldo Bonet, China Zorrilla, Villanueva Cosse, among others.
He actively participated in TEATRO ABIERTO, as an actor, writer and later as a director. There he made his debut as a playwright with “Un tal Macbeth”, a play that won a competition. In this activity he was awarded by the FONDO NACIONAL DE LAS ARTES in the Edmundo Guibourg Competition for Dramatic Books for Television and by ARGENTORES in the Radioteatro para Ver cycle for his play “Quasimodo”.
He has also written “La Viuda de Caín” and “Pieza para una lección de tango -inconclusa-“, both premiered in Argentina and Spain.
He was the director of PROTEATRO in the 2014-15 biennium and was a member of the jury of the 29th MAR DEL PLATA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in November 2014.
Jesús Berenguer is Spanish but grew up and was educated in Argentina, where he mainly developed his acting career. He lived in Spain from January 1977 to October 1980 and from 2002 to 2012.
And currently he has been living permanently in Spain since the end of 2015. During this period, as mentioned above, he has collaborated in plays at the theaters Fernando Fernán Gómez, Valle Inclan and María Guerrero.
