Caspar Jones

Born in Leeds in 1961, Caspar graduated in Peace Studies at the University of Bradford, studied drama at The Actor’s Institute in London and with Teatre de Complicité and with members of Peter Brook’s company in Paris. He completed his studies of circus arts and mime at The Mime Centre and Fooltime Circus School in England.

Caspar worked extensively in England as both actor and writer, during several years writing and performing his own children’s stories for BBC Radio and had a play, The Owl in the Mirror, commissioned by York Festival.

In 1991 he moved to Barcelona where he founded Escapade Theatre Company and has performed in three of their productions, Decadence, Metamorphosis and Dinner for One, which he co-created. Caspar performed at the Edinburgh Festival in Nuts Coconuts with the catalan company La Cubana, the first production fully funded by the festival. On stage he has played diverse roles such as Sherlock Holmes or Lawrence in Mike Leigh’s Abigail’s Party.

More recently he has worked for TV3, Antenna 3, and TVE and in the films Slam and The Sea Change with Ray Winstone. Caspar has worked on 2 occasions for the Merida classical theatre festival as director and actor.

He has a film project, Happy Meals, in pre-production in Mexico based on his own script and in which he will play one of the main roles.
